GNM Nursing

JINS, Bhubaneswar offers a 3 Years, full-time General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) programme. This programme provides rigorous training in nursing and midwifery, encompassing areas such as community health nursing, medical-surgical nursing, and pediatric nursing. The emphasis is on developing practical skills and the ability to manage various healthcare situations effectively.

Programme Objectives

To understand the fundamental concepts of nursing and midwifery;
To provide competent care to individuals, families, and communities;
To effectively communicate healthcare plans and decisions in both written and oral formats;
To demonstrate professional conduct within team activities and patient care;
To develop a culture of empathy, compassion, and ethical practice in nursing.
Observe and interpret patient data to make informed healthcare decisions;
Apply best practices in patient care and management across diverse healthcare settings;
Build competencies for handling various medical emergencies and providing essential midwifery services.

Minimum Eligibility

The candidate should have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 40% marks (as per Odisha Government guidelines) or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing in final examinations can also apply.
Institutions may consider a 5% relaxation in exceptional cases.

Selection Criteria

Students will be admitted to the programme on the basis of merit (Percentage of marks secured in 10th and 12th/Graduation Board Examination).
Candidate may also be called for a personal interview if desired by the institution.
