About The Programme

JINS, Bhubaneswar offers a 3 Years, full-time General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) programme. This programme provides rigorous training in nursing and midwifery, encompassing areas such as community health nursing, medical-surgical nursing, and pediatric nursing. The emphasis is on developing practical skills and the ability to manage various healthcare situations effectively.

  • To understand the fundamental concepts of nursing and midwifery;
  • To provide competent care to individuals, families, and communities;
  • To effectively communicate healthcare plans and decisions in both written and oral formats;
  • To demonstrate professional conduct within team activities and patient care;
  • To develop a culture of empathy, compassion, and ethical practice in nursing.
  • Observe and interpret patient data to make informed healthcare decisions;
  • Apply best practices in patient care and management across diverse healthcare settings;
  • Build competencies for handling various medical emergencies and providing essential midwifery services.

Minimum Eligibility

  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 40% marks (as per Odisha Government guidelines) or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing in final examinations can also apply.
  • Institutions may consider a 5% relaxation in exceptional cases.

Selection Criteria

  • Students will be admitted to the programme on the basis of merit (Percentage of marks secured in 10th and 12th/Graduation Board Examination).
  • Candidate may also be called for a personal interview if desired by the institution.
